This is possibly my favorite WDYTYA,. Olivia Colman doesn't need to find out her ancestors are of royalty or famous, she is so sweetly pleased just learning their life stories. It's truly heartwarming.

Ive always thought of Olivia Colman as a phenomenal actress but she seems like such a sweet genuine person as well. I like her even more seeing how gracious she is to everyone she encounters.

This one was particularly delightful. My favorite part is when she’s so tickled pink reading that letter with the woman in the pink sari (Roshana?) and they’re just giddy together to read something almost “straight out of Jane Austen”.

Olivia is the loveliest subject of this series, her emotional journey was a joy to watch. What a wonderful person as well as a fantastic actor.

I can’t believe how invested I am into Olivia’s family history. She’s such a joy to watch as she discovers her roots.

Did you notice the look on the face of Harriet's husband in the wedding picture... he is positively beaming! SO IN LOVE!

Harriet’s story would make a great mini-series. Olivia should get someone to write it and she could produce it.

How amazingly lovely Olivia could trace back this far, read the intimate letters (which gives fantastic insight into to their personalities) AND have their portraits to boot! Ms. Coleman is surprisingly such a down to earth lady; I’m so happy for her and her family to know about their ancestors.

Love this series! So glad to be able to watch from the US.
Really enjoy seeing them having to travel to where their ancestors came from rather than just sitting in one place.
Hurrah for the relatives who save the documents and images!

Harriet's story is fscinating and would make a fabulous novel and movie. There's enough there from which to write. Harriet's life was difficult but what steel she must have had.

That was a very powerful sentence Olivia said: “We don’t know who’s been forgotten”! She was referring to her ancestors!!

We should all be thinking the same thing about our ancestors - how sad - that unless we orally pass down our history, we probably will be forgotten, as well!
I don’t think anyone in today’s younger generations would bother to read any records we leave behind?? I’m sure there are a few exceptions - let’s hope so!!

It's amazing how much she looks like both her Indian grandmother AND her French grandmother. I loved this, glad she was able to find out so much despite not knowing who Harriet's mother is.
