  Death with Dignity is available now in California. A dear friend of mine used it on January 2, 2026  in a hospice hospital in Santa Barbara, California. He was in horrible pain from prostate cancer that had metastasized to his spine and up to the back of his head. He could no longer feed himself, walk, hold his phone and was not able to take care of his own personal care. This devastated him. He said that he no longer had any will or reason to live at all. He still had his mind and was so happy that the Dodgers had won the world series. He had even asked me for a gun! This scared me so much. I told him about Death with Dignity. I had no idea that he had contacted some one until 2 days before he went thru with it. I was so very sad about his decision but I understood the reasons why. Rest in Sweet Peace, my friend. ❤

  I had my own exit planned out before MAID became more accessible and it wasn't going to be that pleasant. I know for a fact that due to my medical issues the day will come when life is way too hard to deal with, and now that I know I can access MAID when the time comes, I no longer need to carefully plan my exit on my own and it's a huge relief.

  Jeff is a rare, beautiful spirit, as April is. I'm happy she was able to have such a caring, loving, and supportive partner at her most vulnerable times🌈☮💓🙏🏽

  I thought Jeff was so kind he had such a spirit of love and giving to be with her to know her and help her.... To me this makes him a hero to be willing to give his time and emotions to show her love and acceptance.

  I was also born with spina bifida, I've had 34 surgeries and the 33rd surgery paralyzed me, have lived in a nursing home for over 14 years, and love my life. I even wrote a book called blessings from within the dark all about finding joy in your struggles.

  We should all have this choice!!!! Im 76 years old with multiple  health issues. My work here is done. Death would be a blessing.
