Not only do we drive receivers through the car wash, now we pressure wash them inside our garage with the door shut...馃槀

Pioneer SX-650 was my first stereo receiver back in 1976. Senior year in high school and my buddies were jealous that I bought my own hi -fi.

I bought my fisrt SX-650 @ age 17 in 1976 for about $225. Loved it but when I moved out of state @ age 43 I gave it to the young man next door, because he was always helping me. I missed it, so @ age 61 in 2020 I bought a used SX-650 off Craglist for $225. Its great!

Power washing. Reminds me of when I was much younger. My Father had his own electronics business. He was traceable to NBS standards as it was called back then. AC, DC, Microwave. He had Julie Research Labs DC Cells. I met him (Mr. Julie) in New York City in 1971. We would wash all equipment prior to servicing/calibrating. Put under infrared bulbs till dry. This was back in the 60's thru 80's. I was the one who was tasked with removing all vacuum tubes and testing them. We used Cramolin for the rotary contact switches. Anstac M for the glass analogue meters to remove static. Used DeGaussing Coils on TV's. His test equipment was state of the art at the time. To this day, I clean, (polishing and such comes later), before I work, service, calibrate, align. From my experience, I use contact cleaner 1st, then use DeOxit. D5 on metal to metal (think rotary contact switches (wafers) if really tarnished, use Tarn X with Q tips, remove extraneous Q tip material or use foam Q tips, clean with Isopropyl alcohol, then use D5 Gel sparingly, small bottle with brush applicator. DeOxit Fader on pots and such. For the air variable capacitor, contact cleaner only. Wire nuts, twist all leads together 1st, then screw on wire nut. Might test try some Old English on the "wood" of the cover.

Pressure washing is one thing. Pressure washing with one of those rotary devices is another yet.

Depending on the input impedance of the frequency counter, you could be really loading things down. You need to ensure that you are impedance matching your turner alignment equipment...including putting dummy loads in, when you have a high impedance test equipment but the source is looking for 75惟. Some equipment is designed for 50惟 while you will likely be working with 75惟 for FM antenna.
