  I think the “it was summer, actually no it was fall” part is a reference to Fnaf 2 where phone guy says it’s a “summer” job but the pay slip says November.

  Aw you didn’t bring up the part &nbsp;in the spring story where Orville shows concern for Mr. Hippo and wraps him up in a picnic blanket worried he got too much sun which Mr. Hippo agrees he did. <br>Scott expressed stress and mental fatigue from having to continue to go to dark places repeatedly for FNaF and for the fans. &nbsp;He was grateful for the concern and care. <br>It changes the tone of the speech from a lament to a sweet expression of gratitude.<br><br> Mr. Hippo despite all of the communication issues he can have with Orville (And he admits a lot of it is on him.)clearly has a deep respect and affection for Orville. Orville isn’t stupid &nbsp;just stubborn, confused and frustrated sometimes.

  Mr Hippo is my favorite character because he’s literally a metaphor for the FNaF franchise at this point<br><br>“Sometimes a story is just a story”

  I think the birds being frozen just means fans get stuck on theories, even when wrong sometimes. <br><br>Like there are many theories everyone still treats as fully canon despite being at BEST, vaguely hinted at and at worst having no hard evidence at all

  I honestly interpret the second story difrently.<br>Going off the idea that Orville represents the fans in the first story, I think the birds represent theories that have &quot;gone cold&quot; yet we insist on, feeding them new breadcrumbs as the story continues. When mr.Hippo (Scott) tries to nudge us along the right path, we keep insisting on the wrong idea, untill he has to flat out tell us &quot;the birds are dead&quot;.

  Whenever fnaf lore frustrates me I keep calm and ask myself what Mr Hippo would say.

  In this context I believe &quot;frozen birds&quot; relates to the fans not being able to move on from their initial interpretations of the story, even tho Scott gave them every clue he had to give. And that &quot;the birds might be dead&quot; is just an exaggeration to say &quot;No matter what I do they will NEVER be able to decipher the clues&quot; or eat the breadcrumbs.

  The bread crumbs making the ducks sick could be how the fandom is becoming mentally ill from reading too much into everything.
