I have to say that mold is probably the scariest aspect of the later resident evil franchise. People don't take it seriously and play it off in real life as not a big deal unless you have allergies to it, but mold is seriously scary. I lived in a house that had been riddled with it, but rent was cheap and landlord was cool as long as I fixed the place up, so I thought I could. I paid thousands of dollars to fix what I could including cleaning up the moldy carpet and such, but little did I know that it was even worse than it looked. 5 years in that place and I began suffering immense health issues, anxiety, brain fog, mood swings to say the least, immune system went to hell, sick every couple of weeks for some reason nasal swabs were coming back as Flu B even though CBC tests were saying negative, hair turning white, wounds not healing as quickly as they should, nutrients depleted, hormones out of whack, labs all over the place. It was an absolute nightmare. Moved out, got a little better, but damage is done. I'd rather have dealt with the T-Virus and an army of lickers.

I love how random Ethan is. Just some dude shows up who just happens to be the PERFECT match with the mold. To the point he overpowers even Miranda, after her near century of dominance. And all because she took Ethan’s daughter and wife. Don’t fuck with family, mold queen.

My favorite thing about RE is that even though it is a world of Zombies, Bio-Terror, living fossil mind control bugs, plants that turn you into a caveman and, soul eating mushrooms; you can still get a cup of coffee and bitch online about it, in-universe that is.

I do love how the infection in RE:Village has the classic monsters and fairytales theme - witches, lycans, warlocks, sea monsters and vampires. Hell, even Ethan Winters can be counted as a "fairy tale creature" post infection - a revenant, an undead animated by purpose and vengence.

And yes, I cound Heisenberg as "the warlock of the group" even tho his abilities are far more themed after Tetsuo the Iron Man - a far more modern story.
Well, ok, admitedly the Village's theming of monsters and villains has the classics of horror themeing too.

Kinda makes me want a game where transformations from RE are contextualized as classes/fantasy races you can pick from (or a fanart idea I had for a whle of a tabletop wargame set in the RE8.... creative liberties taken with each lord having their army themeda round their mutations- like toy soldiers animated by plants and tumours for Beneviento)

The fact that Spencer was taught by Miranda, left and didn’t use the mold again was a blessing. Cause umbrella had cloning tech, and if the mold reacts a certain way with particular hosts, logic dictates you clone that dna, and if you were to combine that with Sergei Vladimir’s dna, they’d also be tyrants since he was the template for tyrant clones for umbrella.

Heisenberg would have improved on zombies with his soldat research, as well as the template for T.A.L.O.S. Cyborg tyrants.
Moreau would be a template for aquatic bioweapons, with other viruses added to the clones for different properties.
Lady D would have been the perfect tyrant template, with her blood disease being her drive to kill out of hunger, turning into a dragon super tyrant when the limiter is destroyed.
Beneviento would have been perfect for t-Veronica research with her hallucinogenic abilities combined with insect control, plant control and flammable blood.

Village is a training program, The Duke is king Mold, he is never phased when Ethan destroys a lord, Duke cared for the villagers, he got Ethan to clean it up of Lycans and lords, the balance was corrected, Duke knows Ethan is the perfect mold.

This is how you present lore without it sounding like you're listening to an encyclopedia. Well done!

The mold being so innocent and out right peaceful, your daughter's consciousness remembers you and gives you 500 to 1000 plus years to live and you decide to chase after your own selfish dreams :/
