I think it needs 8 seconds of bleed damage to truly have a psychological effect.

I def think the tf2c team should experiment with this gun by allowing it to be fired while disguised.

I do find it hilarious and ironic that in all experience, the sluggish colorblind effect is significantly more alarming than getting shot repeatedly from the side for 40 damage.

I think the tranquilizer would be better if it was renamed "L' Exécuteur' and made the sniper bleed for 8 seconds

I'd say you're underappreciating the value of pissing someone off and leaving before they can do anything about it.
That's, like, 75% of spy's job.

The tranq is also a fantastic support weapon, as you can tranq people who are engaging your teammates

I feel like making it fireable without losing disguise would be an interesting experiment. The effect already makes it obvious to the player that there is a spy. And this would also play nicely with the crit on melee hit. Making it easier to kill targets when you hit them, at the cost of making them super paranoid. Overall I think it wouldn't hurt to try this change.

I haven’t played TF2C, but this gun is really interesting. It kind of feels like the Sydney sleeper or YER of the revolvers. A cool concept, but only when it works in pretty niche situations.

There's a reason most tranqs are in single player games. For the tranq effect to be good, it needs to be genuinely debilitating to the target. And historically TF2 has shyed away from the kind of crowd control effects associated with a tranq

I use the Tranquiliser Gun much more often than the revolver due to these factors:
- In most situations, getting a stab means instant death. A single tranq dart does much more for you than 1-2 revolver bullets, especially if you go for stabs close to the front lines. A slowed down enemy is much more vulnerable to being killed by someone else nearby and that slow can't be mitigated by a second of Medic heals.
- It's great when you're alongside your team and firing at a Medic or their patient in situations where it's hard or impossible to get close for a stab, including tight chokes and spam. In this case, the colorblind effect is actually extremely potent as in my experience the patient often missed their shots much more and often got killed by stuff that player is normally aware of like Snipers.
- If there's a witness nearby (but not the entire team) a single tranq dart almost gaurantees a much easier escape. This works especially well since I'm rocking the Invis watch for the longer cloak duration and less punishment when hit.
- You mentioned light classes being vulnerable to tranq-and-shank and that's yet another use. If that second witness in the previous example is very close to you and a light class, you can take them out.
- Works great when trying to take out a turtling engie as fast and efficient as possible. A tranq shot and a stab is much faster than 3-4 revolver shots, especially if that engie is being healed by the dispenser if he happens to unsap it first

I still switch to the revolver, but only in situations where I need the damage, there is a persistent Engie with his teleporter, or there is tons of wounded teammates just running around. Tranq shines the most in situations where a player is isolated, or in situations where the other team is extremely healthy, bunkered down, always seems to be fighting, and there is very little avenues for getting behind the lines unnoticed. Places like red-sided Badwater first and VIP maps are great candidates for the weapon.

Here's tips for people that want to get the most out of the gun:
- Tranq is not meant to make a new subclass. Do not build your playstyle around the tranq. Tranq is a tool, so use its characteristics as is instead of feeling like you have to use it a specific way.
- Do not play like a Kunai spy. You're a stealth class and you picked a stealth weapon.
- Tranq is not meant to get kills. It's meant to make getting kills easier. Especially for your team.
- Tranq is not a replacement for stabbing. If you're behind their backs and ready for a stab, do it! Tranq gun works best either post backstab or when it's too risky to get it in the first place.
- Tranq is not a combo weapon. If there's an opportunity to do it, go for it. However, don't do it every single time, as there is counterplay.
- Practice landing those darts! Most fails in the video that are B-roll are often a result of a missed shot. Don't blame the weapon being poor on skill issue. I tweaked interp settings for low ping situations, so this might make the weapon easier to use aswell.

When it comes to weapon buffs, I wanna more lean into Utility and Stealth, as those are the areas the weapon seems to be doing the best and uniquely in comparison to the revolver. That and improving the overall feel of the weapon when playing with it would make the weapon much more inviting.
