I would rather be broke than feel bad at my job if the job is not paying life-changing money. The mental toll of working in a job you hate + the brutal winters + loneliness = recipe for depression.

How nicely you have addressed the issue we face at some point while working in Germany

I did exactly the same.. took a job in Germany. As an experienced professional, I had a lot of knowledge in that topic all I had to learn was the process. Very quickly I realized im not learning, it was like a gov job, getting paid, not growing and I started getting bored.

I decided looking for jobs and found a job in a new company which is super exciting, learning awesome new tech very day,

So glad I took that decision. Well done to do!

Thank you for this video, Saad. Genuinely, I empathize with every single word. I completely understand, as I once took this step and yes, I have not achieved it yet, still struggling but taking this decision at a stage where we do not fill happy about what we are doing will definitely bring good worth.

More power to you. We only have one life to live and I am happy that things worked out well for you.
One thing i want to mentions is that language is one of the most important points to consider. I think expats in Munich, Berlin and a couple of other cities do not understand the importance of German language. Mainly because they are not forced to do implement it, they just think English is enough. Its not and they often realize it after a couple of years.

I think you might have misspoken here but @12.22 its Arbeitslosengeld and not Bürgergeld. People who have worked for at least 12 months and paid contributions you get eligible to receive this Arbeitslosengeld for a certain amount of time. Under certain conditions there is a 3 month lock-out phase while others get it as soon as they are let go. To anyone reading this comment: You as an employee have already made contributions to the system so never let anyone make you feel bad if you are let go and you get the Arbeitslosengeld.

Hey man cool video and congratulation for the bold move, not everyone is brave enough to do it, especially in Germany. I also quit my job 2 weeks ago, it was just at the end of the probation period so I did not have to stick for a long time after that. Even though salary was good, the site where I was working was very chaotic and extremely toxic. Poor management, everyday firefighting + most of then people were impossible to work with. I would come home exhausted just to decompress and then go to sleep. The worst thing is that once you get use to it it becomes normal.
