  I thought there was a law you had to get a real ID when renewing your driver's license.  I had to show my birth certificate and marriage license. This should be enough to prove citizenship to vote. American citizens should already have this.

  All politicians are corrupt and need to resign, doesn't matter which side you are on anymore. It's no longer Democrats vs Republicans, this is the super rich being protected by our corrupt government (both sides) and we might see the end of America if we don't stop this now.

  The Declaration of Independence enumerates the roll of government, and there are only TWO things that it&apos;s supposed to do.... To protect the RIGHTS of US citizens, and to protect the PROPERTY of US citizens. Everything that the government does is supposed to be in service of one of those two things. <br><br><br>And on a separate note, I think we&apos;ve improperly named the American Revolution.... because it wasn&apos;t a revolution. We didn&apos;t try to overthrow the King or his government. We didn&apos;t try to overturn Parliament. We didn&apos;t even call them our enemies. After the war, we would end up calling them our closest allies. What the war was about, was a war of independence. We didn&apos;t even come to that conclusion easily, we tried over and over to just get them to work with us. We didn&apos;t even want a different legal system, we copied that too. What we needed was attention by the government, but they were so far away that they were ineffective. So... the Revolutionary War, was not a revolution, it was just us declaring that we needed to be on our own.

  What I don&apos;t understand I guess, is that this is the only circumstance I can think of, where there is a constitutional law, that states that only those who are US citizens can vote, there is statutory law passed by Congress, which says the same, but the Executive branch cannot enforce those laws. Every single other law is self-executing, that which is law doesn&apos;t need a second law in order to execute it. But for some reason, this one does. The President, which is the Executive branch, cannot enforce these laws, he cannot implement any measure that ensures that only US citizens can vote. It&apos;s the only situation that for some reason, everyone insists is beyond his jurisdiction. I think a case could be made that he does indeed, have the authority to enforce that law.

  This is a nauseating, odious spectacle to witness a supposed representative of the people advocating for a bill that is designed to deliberately disenfranchise millions of Americans simply so the GOP and Trump can be shielded from accountability by voters. &nbsp;The fact is, the American states already excel at election integrity. &nbsp;A report by the conservative Heritage Foundation found that between 1992 and 2024, only 77 noncitizens voted out of 2 billion votes cast in American elections. &nbsp;That is the miniscule rate of 0.00000004 percent, which exceeds the quality standards of precision machinists! &nbsp;Fact is, every elected official should be singing the praises of state election workers for their outstanding track record, when you consider the colossal scale of our democracy, across multiple time zones. &nbsp;Turns out the founding fathers were correct with their instincts when they entrusted election administration to the states and the people. &nbsp;An unfunded onerous federal bureaucracy does not ensure election integrity, it is we the people that ensure it. &nbsp;And Senator Lee has not provided full disclosure that this bill includes a provision for the feds and the Department of Justice to get access to your private voter data, which is unconstitutional and an attack on state sovereignty in terms of protecting their citizens. &nbsp;This Trump administration is setting up multiple national databases in violation of the Privacy Act with intention to create a surveillance state in America like China&apos;s. &nbsp;AI will make federal spying on Americans escalate even more. &nbsp;<br>Those who listened to Senator Lee&apos;s speech should for objectivity sake , listen also to Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski speech about how this Act will handicap her Alaskan constituencies ability to register and vote, through no fault of their own. &nbsp;It is eye opening.

  Talking a good game and continually falling short says a lot. Closed door meetings have produced nothing of merit towards getting the Save America Act done! It’s astonishing the things senators get across the finish line time after time yet securing our voting system is nothing more than a ping pong ball pummeling back and forth! Just a reminder 80% of Americans want secures citizens only voting. If Thune is the problem vote him out of position and fire the parliamentarian too. No more bad deals, fight for election purity!

  Thank you Senator Lee. This has been a great explanation. I support The SAVE Act. Please keep up the good fight!<br>The stunning hypocrisy of the Ds requiring ID in order to get into the Democratic National convention is astounding.
