The great thing about Knowles is that even though he gets into some pretty far-out territory, he has a very grounded, street-smart, realistic understanding of how society works, unlike so many people in this "alternative reality" sphere. If not for that, I'd probably dismiss him as a crackpot out of touch with reality, like that Jorjani dude.

Knowles framing of life magic and death magic was very identical in both content and framing to Charls Carroll's views on the exact same thing.

I think it's a very interesting topic that has become overly complicated.
If you are only your ego, you will be a destructive force in the universe because you can be pressured, extorted and intimidated. However, if you have even the faintest feeling that you are more than you perceive yourself to be, then there is God, morals and honor.

Awesome to see this collab, one that I thought might happen but I wasn’t holding my breath for.

I know you occasionally still bring up occult research, and I remember on one of the new BTN episodes you flashed one of the OG cards(surprised it got left in the edit), but I miss when you’d explain this stuff(Mythology/occult/crime/narrative manipulation) in depth during Thorin’s Thoughts. Love whenever it comes back up.

‘Saying the truth’ isn’t particularly useful on its own as society is fundamentally different than the small family/friend/quasi-Army unit which humans are meant to live in. Power also is distributed differently. If you aren’t ‘hardened’ or trained to deal with this kind of information it either ‘bounces off’ your mind or drives you insane.

A thought on ‘sanitized’ technology, it might be like ‘sanitized’ foods. Raw fruits are recommended in a lot of ancient traditions, notably proto/pre-Christian and some Platonist circles. If food is too sanitized it isn’t understood by the body and is less nutritious, you don’t get the full character of it. Our use of what’s been named ‘digital technology’ is like excessively cooked-down, processed food, vs unsanitized rituals/antiquetech.

Howdie Mickoski next? I kid.

Excellent chat, I love what he says about society being a crucible. People going along until they break even tho its wrong. Via fear
