  Henry’s actor in this scene is the most under appreciated piece of art i’ve ever seen. his display of disbelief and absolute despair and grief is flawless.

  Man.... 15 years old was way too young for me when I first played this game back in 2013. It completely changed the way I viewed life. I remember the super long loading screens between chapters back on ps3. I remember sitting there, alone, watching those golden spores float across the screen for a solid 5 minuets with tears rolling down my cheeks. This scene devastated me in ways I didn't even fully understand at the time. When the next chapter finally loaded up I instantly paused the game and went out to my grandparents living room and sat and watched tv with my grandpa. He could tell I was upset and asked if I was okay and I just sat there because how in the fuck was I supposed to explain to a man in his late 60's that a video game just rocked me to my core.

  Not-so-fun fact: &nbsp;The cordyceps fungus this infection is based off of doesn&apos;t alter the consciousness at all. &nbsp;Just takes over the musculoskeletal and peripheral nervous systems to serve its own ends. &nbsp;So it&apos;s entirely possible Sam was completely aware of what his body was doing and totally helpless to stop himself.<br><br>Edit 2mo. later to further extrapolate: Sam was not shot in the head, so I&apos;m not sure why the assault immediately stopped, but it takes several minutes for most, even children, to bleed out into unconsciousness from what I would assume to be a sucking chest wound. &nbsp;So not only was Sam likely conscious all the way up to being shot, given the angle he fell at afterward the last thing he saw was probably Henry shooting himself in the head

  This was one of the few scenes they actually did nail in the live action. I was sobbing then too.

  The saddest thing that a lot of people misunderstand is Henry saying &quot;It&apos;s all your fault&quot; he was talking to himself... he blamed himself for getting Sam infected :(

  What people dont relize is that Henry was talking to himeself. &quot;Henry what have you done?&quot; Even though hes looking at Joel hes blaming himself. He pointed the gun at Joel when Joel said he was going to take it. In the moment Henry decided he was going to end himself. Thats what makes this so tragic.
