I’ve been travelling frequently to Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur for the last 10 years. Not once have I experienced anything as mentioned in the above video. In fact, I like this country so much, I’m also planning on getting residency there in the future

KL offers better service for much less money than Bangkok and is very clean overall. No issues with a single bathroom there on my trips.

He was traumatized by the booger eating. Lol. When i was in the Philippines they had an issue with roaches in some of the places.

So you had to flee the country because you saw a guy picking his nose and you didn't get first world hygiene standards at a 'restaurant' where you paid a dollar for a meal?

Are those hygiene issues really that prevalent?? I've been researching and reading people's comments (pros and cons) for months and I never heard ANY of these things!

His comments about booger are hilarious. Although I am Malaysian but no offense taken. All the best to his next destination !

I live in Singapore, the U.S and France. The only place where I see the vendor cooking right before me is in Singapore Hawker centers. In the U.S unless you go to sandwich shop, they cook in the kitchen where you don't see. French Michelin three star chefs touch their ingredients with bare hands. What you are saying is if you don't see it, that's OK.

I was in Peru last year. Ordered a smoothy from a shop. There was a small gap to the kitchen from where I was sitting in the restaurant. I happened to notice that the lady that was preparing the smoothy, she blended it, then poured it in a big glass cup, and drank from out of it before sending it through the waiter. I am thinking it was to taste it to make sure it is ok before being served to me, but she drank sipping directly from the cup. Not sure if the same levels of hygiene are maintained anywhere in the world, may be a little better in developed countries?

When I spend 20%-40% cost of living compared to my own country, I can just ignore some negative thing, it is just a fair deal.
When you get everything perfect, perfect system, quality, hygiene, safety, weather etc, you get similar perfect price as well, by the time, don’t blame that the price is too high
