Also fun fact; Hildryn is using a gun that was designed to only be used in the vacuum of space; it's far too heavy to use with gravity. Other frames have to do a quest to get an Anti-Grav machine in order to use those types of weapons, Hildryn just lugs one around because she can.

The community basically responds to any questions with "that's a spoiler" because it's a 12 year old game that has lots of moments that are WAY more powerful and awe inspiring if you don't know it's coming. Lots of players are big into the game because those moments hooked them for one reason or another. The spoiler free, shorthand answer to lore is that a major war happened. The warframes are the characters you play as and are all unique. What exactly they are is a major plot point but the game is free and was designed so that anything that would effect your gameplay can be earned for free if you spend enough time playing.

Revenant himself was actually Rebecca Ford (Intern -> Lead Community Manager -> Lead Game Director, also the voice of The Lotus/Space Mom)'s personal choice for what she wanted as a frame in the game. A lot of the Frames are just the devs deciding what they think would be cool and putting it in.

Fun Fact: Bricky used to make Warframe content along with DK Diamantes and Quite Shallow before they got Warframe burnout into founding the Adeptus Ridiculous Warhammer podcast
