  The last 50 years feel like such a scam. Went from most people getting jobs with a highschool degree with a single income supporting a family of four to needing multiple university degrees for two incomes to barely be able to support a family of three. It makes no sense.

  im a 28 year old man and i want as many kids as i can support thats the gap the ability to support the children i can barely support myself

  I was raised to believe that having children infringes on your freedom and your ability to pursue your dreams. My mom made us kids aware she felt trapped in her marriage and even told us “never have children.” As an adult I can now see how damaging that was. I’m now 47, no kids, and never had a strong desire for kids. Recently however I’ve begun thinking how different my life and my choices may have been if I’d been raised to believe children are a blessing instead of a burden.

  I watched the last interview - I was in my 30s, had no kids and was very much delaying parenthood for career. Now I’m pregnant with my second baby girl. Best thing that’s ever happened to me, thank you 🙏

  As someone who lives in Brazil, everyone is just taxed to frickin&apos; death here. There&apos;s no way normal people can afford to have a big family, nor is there an incentive to make money to have one because it&apos;s all taken off you. They&apos;re talking about starting to make people declare money given to family members soon. Fuck that. Tax is evil!

  Me and my wife give 60% of our income to the government in a form of taxes. How on earth can i afford a house, education for 2-3-4 kids?

  This guy is absolutely spot on about societal messaging. When I was 20 I was in a relationship with an amazing girl that I am sure to this day would have made a wonderful life partner/mother. In a different time I would have married her and started a family no questions asked. But instead I left her because society was telling me 20 is too young to be serious with someone and start a family. And I believed it. Thought I was young and had plenty of time and there&apos;s plenty of fish in the sea. Now I am 36, been single for 8 years and struggle to imagine I will ever find anyone as wonderful and loving as she was and maybe I never will find someone to have a family with at this point, even though I would really love to. I threw all of that away not because the relationship wasn&apos;t good or there was anything wrong with her, but because of societal induced FOMO. We need to educate our young people about pair-bonding and fertility windows. I have to take some personal responsibility for my decisions, but at the same time I really wish the society around me had taught me to recognise the value in what I had.

  When I was a teen we had church dances, school dances, community dances and fairs and community clubs, gardening clubs, flying clubs…etc. &nbsp;Our Community DID THINGS TOGETHER! &nbsp;So we met, we fell in love, we knew each other and we had common interests. &nbsp;We found our mates where we worshipped, where we danced and where we spent our weekends joining in together and building up the community. &nbsp; &nbsp;I was 21 (a late bloomer) and married my 18 year old sweetheart. &nbsp;We married and were pregnant just months later. &nbsp;WE HAVE LOST COMMUNITY

  Am I going crazy? Just 5-10 years ago we were told that there will be too many people in the world by 2035. It was so serious that China was killing babbies over it. But now everyone is screaming the sky is falling and there will be a population collapse?<br><br>Am I the only one that remembers?
