  In US military, most mil spec vehicles have side-stream and canster filters. They use Full synthec oils, which are never changed. Oil is rotinely topped off, on intervals, filter sttem is inspected &amp; cleaned &amp; canister filter is replaced with new &nbsp;&amp; oil topped off. The oil is never &quot;changed&quot;

  Coming up on 600,000 here. &nbsp;I change at approximately 30-40% “remaining” life. &nbsp;I always change it hot, full synthetic, and have used the BestLine additive since about 200K. &nbsp;Pretty OCD on cleanliness during changing. &nbsp;Check level at every fuel fill. &nbsp;I drive it so much the interval comes out to about every 6-8 weeks. &nbsp; Had it up to ~12,000 feet in the mountains before, out in desert a lot, 5 times across the country, numerous recreational ~300-500 mile trips annually…<br><br>Vehicle is also “flex fuel” (E85) which I initially used about twice in 10 years, then near constantly through CoVid and again now during the current spike. &nbsp;Oil actually remains far cleaner visually under its use.<br><br>I also have the AFM engine, never a problem.

  Agree that 3,000 miles is excessive.<br><br><br>Although 7,500 and 10,000 are recommended for synthetic, the fine print says that for short trips and stop and go (which apply to most of us), 5,000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first is more appropriate.<br><br><br>The YT Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician known as The Car Care Nut says he has regularly encountered cars that have turned into oil burners from using Toyota&apos;s 10,000 mile recommendation.<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdlA3VGVKYs">https://youtu.be/TdlA3VGVKYs?is=Y9J0-pA08ZdtWA94</a><br><br><br>For the record, he recommends the 5,000 interval and a 3,000 mile interval for turbos because of the extreme heat they generate.

  My 2026 Ram has an oil life monitor, that is supposed to monitor my driving conditions, and the calculate a change interval. According to this monitor, I need to change the oil every 6300 miles. Since my engine, the hurricane, has turbo chargers, I am not going to go to 10000 miles, like the owners manual recommends.

  I change F-350 6.2L gas every 5,000 or 1 year. &nbsp;City driving with no loads. &nbsp;Mobile 1 5w-30. &nbsp;Runs like a top.
