  10 years using. Quit. &nbsp;Went back to college. &nbsp;Got my bachelor’s in biology. &nbsp;Got certified as Medical Laboratory Scientist. It is possible to change your life if you want it bad enough. &nbsp;Don’t give up on yourself

  I was a meth and heroin addict and I was even in the beginning of the fentanyl boom. I can promise you meth ain’t nothing compared to opiates as far as withdrawals

  I can relate to the guy who said, &quot; First time IV&apos;ing I was hooked.&quot; &nbsp;Man, I can relate. I had a drug buddy I partied with who slammed. He would go into the bathroom and do it. After months and months of begging him to shoot me up, he finally relented. He told me, &quot; This will change everything.&quot; I thought he was being over dramatic, but he was absolutely 💯 right. I lost everything for the next rush of a shot. <br>I&apos;m happy to report today that I&apos;m almost 6 years clean and sober. &nbsp; My heart goes out to those addicts who are still suffering. &nbsp;You can quit. If you relapse, get back up and dust yourself off again. KEEP TRYING. DON&apos;T EVER EVER GIVE UP. I almost forgot, if you&apos;re serious about sobriety, you have to change your friends. You can not have anything to do with ANYONE who uses drugs. Remember, we are who we surround ourselves with.

  I&apos;d have tried a before and after &quot;I was bored, so I tried meth...&quot; but follow it up with an equal campaign of &quot;I was bored... so I volunteered at a food pantry&quot; or &quot;I was bored so I got the kids in the neighborhood together to put on play&quot; There&apos;s a million things to do beside meth, but it seems the grown ups don&apos;t have any more imagination than the kids. <br><br>My parents gave me pot and LSD by the time i was 12. I stopped going to school and dropped out. By 18 I was shooting heroin and coke. By 23 I lost interest. People around me were dying. They&apos;re still dying of the same things, so it seems you can&apos;t ever really get away from it. On the upside by the time I was 28 I decided to go to university, and that was good. That changed everything.

  Both my niece and nephew are in and out of prison and jail. <br><br>BOTH meth addicts…and YES absolutely as a GRATEFUL recovering alcoholic, I did everything I know to help them. <br><br>I’ve only done a few things RIGHT in life…never picking up meth was one of them. <br><br>Nothing but respect to EVERY single person staying sober one day at a time.
