  I don't find remembering a migration fur more than 500 years too surprising.  In a more modern context the Philistines forgetting where they came from would be something akin to the Mexicans forgetting Cortes.  Even if the oral tradition forgot or distorted the details of the events, the role Spain played on reshaping the region would be difficult to overlook.

  Preachers still reliably preach the history of Noah and the flood, as they have for thousands of years. THAT'S precisely what priests do. They preserve the history and knowledge, as well as teaching about God.

  The prophets are accurate about long past events because GOD was eye witness to them and the prophets are writing His eye-witness account, not something they learned in a history class passed on by way of human knowledge. Before being commissioned, Amos was a small town shepherd and farmer, not a noble or scholarly man. By this we know that the prophets are also accurate about future events, because God is an eye witness and the prophets faithfully recorded His eye witness account of those events as well.

  Excellent report. The archeological timelines in the Bible are filling in quite nicely. Re the giants as part of the Philistine history, Sardinia has a long history. Possibly fled or migrated there during Joshua&apos;s inquests of the promised land.

  This coincides with the late bronze age collapse. &nbsp;A good book to read about it is &quot;1177 BC &nbsp;The Year Civilization Collapsed&quot; by Eric Cline. &nbsp;I believe there is even a video here on youtube where Cline talks about it. &nbsp;It basically talks about theories about why it occurred and 1 idea was an invasion of the &quot;Sea Peoples&quot; as the Egyptians called them. &nbsp;It talks about war, trade collapsing around the Med and towns/cities just disappearing at that time. &nbsp;They don&apos;t know how it started, and list a number of reasons that could have.

  This is most informative and also fascinating. Thankyou. I have been seeking information on the philistines over the years (amateur) and this information ties together so many aspects ….. DNA/ Egyptian records/ Biblical writings/ trade around the Mediterranean/ the Phoenician traders/ the Minoan script/ the Philistines &amp; the Canaanites and more. Thankyou again❗️
