  Thank you for this topic, I really needed to hear this. I’ve been a health care worker for 45 years in the same hospital the entire time. People have become to violent physically and verbally that has increased tremendously these last years. I love helping care for people and praying for them, treating them with kindness and caring for their physical and emotional needs. But I am at a point that I just can’t take the abuse that I have been through. I often say outside of work that I don’t like people and I prefer to stay home. I don’t really feel that way about most people but I say that because of all the trauma from people who aren’t hateful. We have started going to a new church with one of my old coworkers and it has been so uplifting. I’m hoping that all the ugly will start to disappear and I can get back to truly loving Gods people. Thank you for your ministry, I love you and appreciate you all so very much ❤️

  This was the best podcast I have ever listened to! I learned so much from the discussion of Paul that really enlightened my understanding of him and his letters. I am mental health counselor and I work primarily with children in trauma. There were so many professional take aways for me in this episode. However, most powerful segment for me was the discussion of the trauma of leaders. Thankfully, my commute, where I do most of my listening and praying, is on a rural highway because I was "ugly crying", not soft gentle tears, but sobs. It was life altering! Thank you!

  Thank you for this beautiful episode. Hearing Adrienne break down trauma so simply and clearly was a turning point for me; it helped me finally make sense of feelings I never knew were tied to ‘trauma’.  And thank you for the timely reminder to lead with compassion in the world today.

  As a veteran with PTSD, I can confirm that writing out the traumatic event is a go-to treatment through VA Counseling. The Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) that I went through was a 12-week program where I had to write out the story of the event every week for 12 weeks, with a homework assignment of reading each week's version every day leading up to the next week. It didn't take away the trauma; it took away its power.

  Fascinating and enlightening discussion! The revelation about Paul is mind-blowing! And, yes, Lisa, the mean-spiritedness/cruelty of today's culture is "deforming" the Church (as Russell Moore also describes how it's damaging our souls). It is beyond heartbreaking; it is ruining our testimony to the unsaved. Thank you for this important podcast. I'm drawn to the deep and authentic sharing within your platform. The combination of theological and psychological perspectives is brilliant!

  I cannot believe how God uses so many messages to continue to reveal Himself to me. Your description of how some see/saw the Bible as a rule book to use against us and then how the Lord opens up our hearts and minds to see His love and how He works in such mysterious ways, in and through us as we read the word ... Even through &quot;broken&quot; people. 🙌🏼✝️❤️‍🩹<br>Thank you, this entire message helped me so much. I actually feel I need to listen again because I want it to soak deep into my heart, mind and soul. May the Lord help us to love ourselves and others well. 🙏🏼
