This video shows why Danceteria was the best club that ever existed. Just listen to the music in this video. It is so varied. From hip hop, techno, to alternative (that's Echo And The Bunnymen's "Monkeys" being played at 7:00). Danceteria played every style of music and that brought a really wide variety of people to the club. Goths to Madonna wannabees to beat boys would dance side by side. Greatest club ever. Plus you couldn't get in unless you had a girl with you. That means you'd be hooking up with girls out on the sidewalk of the club. Only club I know of where you scored before you even got in!

Wow I can't believe I actually went to Danceteria in 1983. I had to sneak out of my parents home with this cool guy from school who everyone thought was gay but he asked me out. As I was dancing with him I noticed he started to dance with guys. That whole night blew my mind but I still loved it and we left together.
