“Hot dog is a sandwich and a slide is an effect.”  Words that will live in musical history forever.

Using a volume boost pedal for just one note is the most brilliant/hilarious things I've ever heard of. Excellent interview.

Is it me, or is Paul more popular than he was even back in the 80s???  I love Uncle Paul, he's the best.  He's always just so positive, and happy and excited about guitar and sharing his experiences and knowledge.  Thanks for everything Paul!

Don't you just love that while every other gear video on YouTube features Hi-Tech pedalboards, Paul Gilbert's like... "Oh, and I made sure to sand the corners to my irregularly shaped piece of wood that I cut, myself." Now that's awesome.

Paul managed to survive the demise of the '80s shredder and remain active - he is now like a scientist who travels through time and encompasses all guitar eras with timeless mastery.

Two guys on top of their game who will consistently talk and praise other guitarists and pedals.

Paul Gilbert's personality is possibly bigger than his guitar playing.  What a gift to humanity.

He picks so fast that he has to wear safety glasses.

Josh and Paul are the perfect match, they should have their own show.

Paul is a jukebox, an encyclopedia, an engineer, teacher, comedian, and on and on. What a fun person in a world full of...not fun people?
