"There are two kinds of people in the world, people who love dichotomies and those who don't"<br>- maybe the best professor joke ever made, Barbara Tversky

The gut is the "second brain" but sometimes I "think" it is the first

I really enjoyed how gently she lays out boundaries on what she accepts and less strongly accepts. I learned a lot from how she presents her ideas!!!

I'm a professional musician, mainly work on composition and post-production, I rollerblade as my main recreational activity and take frequent walks, also my dad is an engineer and i've always been very close to math. I strongly believe we think through the body before it gets processed into language. As a musician, you can learn all the theory in the world, but if you don't put it into practice in your hands and fingers, and get used to how that sound resonates or creates disonance with the body, then you don't really understand the music theory you're learning. Regarding math, it is intrinsically connected to the physical world, as math functions are derived from observing reality, scientific method etc. Understanding of how your own body moves through space and experiences the forces of reality through your senses helps understand how math connects to the physical world, our body, the world of sound, the world of vision, etc.

Fascinating, I'm chronically ill and fully bedbound (very little movement) and the nature of my thought has been observably altered...I've been on a mission to describe the alteration to others, it's a completely different world. Pretty awful as well lol but that's not the focus

We see this all the time in nature! Living beings tend to ulitize as many parts as possible, in as many ways as possible. I think our main issue is that we believe that consciousness is centered in the brain. But we don't have to spend our entire lives up there! Bringing down your consciousness into your body is the most pleasant way of practicing mindfulness, and finding joy in life!!

There is a school where kids learn to internalize an abacus and end up calculating big numbers looking at a blank table and moving their hands around on it
