Did I hear you mention appetite for destruction in an article from 1984?

Imagine being Def Leppard, used to the General McCarthy of record producers, Mutt Lange & then getting Bill Murray from Stripes, Jim Steinman. 😄

They left the Billy Squire tour and started headlineing Pyro. That was my first concert in Nov 83.

I bought Pyromania a few days before going to Europe for two weeks with a group of kids & teachers from my high school in early April 1983. For as long as I live, that record will always remind me of riding The Tube around London with my best friends, having the time of our lives. Especially Photograph into the song Stagefright - we were listening to it while talking to some girls visiting London from The Channel Islands. Thanks mom & dad for giving me the experience of a lifetime!

I was lucky enough to have seen Def Leppard three times, first in 1981 for High N Dry, second for Pyromania in 1983, and last for Hysteria in 1987, Hysteria is one of my favorite albums , when I saw them for Hysteria it was the first time I heard a rock band and thought they were lip syncing, but they weren't, they were just that good, they were always absolutely amazing and are one of my favorite bands of all time, and I amazed that they are still killing it today and still sound awesome.

I will always remember sitting in my bedroom, listening to the radio, when the DJ announced that steve clark had died. While MTV was my main news source, i just happened to be listening to the radio at the right time. It was such a shock & the last thing we were expecting.

Im all about sound effects, so I like this album of theirs the best. Im sure it was the first I heard of them to. I seen joe elliot interview saying they wanted to beat michael jacksons so they obviously had to record what the younger people would buy. I think they said they still lost to michael jackson on the charts again
