  My grandmother taught me seed keeping, rotating crops, natural deterrents and fertilizers. I have yeast fertilizer and ground eggs hell liquid on my porch now. Also pepper spray and milk spray. They weren&apos;t Amish just poor. But, she had a beautiful garden every year. My cousin said you got grannies green thumb. But, I just listened and helped in her garden.

  Good advice from Amish gardening techniques…No tilling just layer compost and leaves and straw letting it breakdown into the soil and plant …Milk mixed with water goes a long way to combat mold and fungus… Never leave the earth bare keep something growing and remember to rotate crops.❤

  Another reason to spray the milk onto leaves at first light is yellow jackets go into a frenzy when I do it during the day. Also, it won’t heal the leaves already covered in mildew but I will keep it from spreading. Remove the infected leaves and burn them. Spray on remaining leaves as preventative to kill the spores before they grow.

  4-6 inches of straw cover my garden beds - saves on water, weeding, and feeds your soil with no effort.

  If you have a pet fish tank , remove 1/3 of the water every few months and dilute it. All the nutrients from the fish waste fertilises plants. Never throw this water down the drain, use it. I had the most beautiful flower display ever ❤
