Great job putting this all together Ray! Again, you brought a smile to my face and a trip down memory lane!

I came across this at bedtime but that got postponed until I watched the whole video. Some of those views just came flooding back from when my dad would take me on occasional trips when he works for a firm in Ottawa. Some items I remember standing by and the historical photos were fantastic. It's hard to believe on today's CP former Milwaukee Road is the largest shipper is the Buzzi cement terminal in its namesake town up to 20 cars a day in Prime construction season

Very interesting compilation of different railroads. The interchange operations between the IAIS and Buzzi Unichem are fascinating.

I believe the pier you mentioned was for the Burlington swing bridge? Great video for sure!

This is awesome!! My love of trains was reawakened when I lived somewhat near this area about 10 years ago and this is absolutely fascinating! I definitely want to get that buzzi job if it's still running.

There was one mention of cement loads coming from Greencastle-did those come up the old Monon and transfer to IAIAS in Chicago? Does this still go on? I sometimes see strings of short hoppers on the CSX Monon line and there is still limestone being extracted near Greencastle and Cloverdale, maybe still a cement plant there as well. What was the primary traffic on the BN line from Ladd to Peru, Oglesby and Streator (before the bridge was removed)? Why were empties taken to Utica-were there storage tracks there? Also what about the old Lasalle and Bureau County RR-I think there is still a short piece of it used north of Peru. I spent 4 years going to school west of Peru and the BN and RI lines both ran through our campus and one of our things to do to relax was walk to the tracks and watch trains on the RI, also rode it to Chicago many times. There were very few trains on the BN line at that time (late 60's).

Fantastic video - very informative. Is the GE 80-tonner still in service?
