So, what do you think - just another scamera, or is this one actually worth a go? 🤔

💻50% OFF your 1st year's subscription at One. com with code "TOMCALTON" (sponsored) - https://www.o7anwntrk.com/D88559/J8P3N/?uid=61
📸Chuzhao TLR Camera - https://amzn.to/4kwAwXJ
🖼10% OFF all my presets with code "COMMENTSBRO" - www.tomcalton.co.uk/presets

I don't feel scammed into buying one. The ads I saw actually promoted the low image quality as a feature (ie "retro digital")

    I love this. It's not a camera, it's a genrically-nostalgic art project and FANTASTIC!

The shutter button confirms delete. The one I bought came with directions. I think it is pretty good for what it is.

They had a photography program at our school. To qualify, you had to take an introduction to photograph course. The introduction started with a package, which you had to buy. The package consisted of a toy camera, a glass lens, three rolls of film (yeah, film), photographic paper, and a portfolio. The course began with an introduction on photographers becoming an equipment junkie. Every photographer will become addicted to buying equipment they don't use or need. We then covered all the types of photos that exist. There's not that many. Once you learn what they are, you will know more than almost every photographer. You had one shot at each type of photograph. It didn't have to be good, but you had to understand what you were doing. The camera wasn't an actual toy, that just what they are called. We took out the plastic lens and put in the glass lens. That was it. We took the photos. We had to explain what we were doing. Did that, you could move on. Later, he said, equipment matters, but you could go broke, buy shit you don't need.

For $40 (or $32, thanks to today's lightning deal), it's a fun camera worth a flyer on it. At its original price of $120, or even $99, it's a scamera.

0:53 I was 99% sure you actually bought a pencil sharpener, and that's the lever you turn once you stick in a pencil 😂

The reason the videos are muted when you use the spinning handle is to replicate old school silent films made with spinner cameras, this is also a good thing as the noise from the spinning mechanism would suck when watching them back...

It is advertised as a toy camera so I wouldn't call it a scamera, since it doesn't "scam" people to think it as a proper camera. It was sold in China for around $30, so $40 on Amazon, considering the shipping fee and high tariffs these days, is not a bad price for such a toy.

honestly, about 40 bucks seems alright for a little gizmo to have a couple of days worth of fun with, and after that it looks quite good on a shelf or smth. ive spent more money on more useless things. seems like a cool little gift aswell
