No, the Caribbean did not start with Christopher Columbus. Millions of people were already living here. Mansa Musa's family from Mali sent ships previous to Columbus. That's how he got his captains. In his diary he talked of seeing African ships loaded with goods returning to Africa

I spent time living both Puerto Rico and St Croix during 1981 to 1984. Both places are beautiful. The people are amazing and friendly. Since then my wife and I have tried to explore as much of the Carribean as possible which is very expensive to do. But we enjoyed spending every<br>dollar we could to explore. Truly an amazing place anywhere you go !

Barbados is the only island in the caribbean that was not formed by a volcano. It was pushed up from the sea by tectonic plates crashing together and pushing the island up.
