  My son constantly asks me questions about my life and we have to have uncomfortable conversations sometimes. In return, he is open and honest with me. He is only 9 but I pray that continues

  Kandi’s mom had multiple divorces, she probably didn’t tell Kandi anything. However, Kandi should recall how she felt instead of repeating what her mom did with her. Hopefully, a therapist will reach to offer their services.

  The older generations were so repressed that I&apos;m just learning more about my mom--as she faces herself. &nbsp;It really hadn&apos;t occurred to me that my mother had never lived alone for more than 6 months until my dad passed away 2 years ago. &nbsp;She was always able to turn her attention to someone else. &nbsp;She&apos;s really had to cone to terms with her life differently. &nbsp;Children are also your mirror, so watching my sister&apos;s dynamic with her adult daughter mirror some of her relationship patterns with my mom is quite revealing.

  Hi Erica! Kandi is the type of person who can not and will not process emotions. She can&apos;t help Riley with her feelings because Kandi doesn&apos;t deal with her own. Kandi will grin and bear it, to the very end. Riley is more connected to her own emotions, hopefully, she can teach her mother how to address her emotions in a healthy way.

  I came back from my dads house one weekend and my mom was packing up the house and we were moving. No explanation or discussion was ever had to this day. Just uprooted and rough living for the next year. My mom is much like Kandi. I’ve never heard her even argue with my dad or her ex husband. She didn’t express emotions other than anger and sadness at the “appropriate time” like funerals etc. &nbsp;it really is tough on children. I have to build a completely new foundation for myself emotionally.
