Great reaction! Amira is now 22 years old and studying for a BMus degree in classical singing at university. She is in her second year perfecting her skills as a dramatic coloratura soprano. She has a wide range of tessitura and can easily sing as a lyric soprano, mezzo and even contralto. She sings only the classical and crossover genres. Amira has over a billion views on YouTube, as well as two diamond, two platinum and two gold records. Since the age of 9, she has donated half of her net income every month to her foundation to build playgrounds in poor schools in South Africa. Her video “Amira Willighagen ~ Live in Concert ~ Amazing Grace” is the most watched of this song sung by a female soloist, with 34 million views.

She got me too, and I have lost count of how many times I've seen this, long ago. She is actually singing in Britain next week, sat 20 june, in Dornoch Cathedral in Scotland. Rare treat as she lives in South Africa now.
Yes she is Dutch, with a south African mother, and she gives well over half of her earnings to the charity she formed when she was 10, to provide play and sports facilities to the underprivileged in south Africa. She is not chasing fame and fortune for its own sake, but only as a means to help others. She had a well grounded childhood, with normal schooling, and still has her feet firmly on the ground.
A lovely personality.
You should listen to some more of her output, she's been performing for 13 years and there are a lot of videos, many equally stunning.
Recommend - Gesu Bambino, an informal recording with her father, when she was 18.
L'amore sei tu ( I will always love you)
Amazing Grace.
Ave Maria, Gomez at the Canisius Church.
All stunning pieces.
Enjoyed your reaction, hope you do some more.

Notice how André looks to Amira for cues on conducting the music, instead of the other way around!
