The actor who played Baelor should win an award. He deserves that. Man that episode broke me.

Rheagar was born OUTSIDE of sunmerhall. It is strongly implied that Ser Duncan rescued his mother from the flames. Something he could not have done if he had been missing a hand and a foot…

Baelor was a good man to his nephew, because he saw he had hope. He loved Egg and for that and honor, he stood up for him. Plus, Duncan gave him hope for a future...

Baelor sacrificing his life for a hedge knight also made me think of this exchange between Stannis and Davos, about Edric Storm:
Stannis: “What is the life of one bastard boy against a kingdom?”
Davos: “Everything.”
