  I think the tensioner failed first, and thats what ate the teeth of the cam gears. In these cases, where the tensioner is bolted in from the outside, it might worth a try to replace only the tensioner at first. For example, on Mercedes OM642 engines (3 liter V6 CDI) the timing chain rarely stretches, but the tensioner is likely to fail. But you can replace it without taking apart anything.

  And that folks, is why I&apos;m motorcycle mechanic not a car mechanic!!!!!! How the hell you remember how everything goes back together or comes apart in the first place!!!!!! &nbsp;Fair play to you Ben. As a matter of interest, how long did the job take from start to finish??

  Thanks a lot for this video, dude! I just had to undergo the exact same job on my 2017 Macan GTS. It was an absolute pain in the a**, but with the help of your video I managed to get it done with a friend of mine! The car now runs as smooth as never before.

  Fair play, as previous comments, shows how much time and labour goes into fixing components. Even to get to the area needed; amount of the engine that had to be removed. Good job!
