  Great documentary. Central Asian countries are obscure and rarely featured, this documentary provides viewers with an understanding of life in Tajikistan.

  I don’t see anything wrong with it - promoting local culture rather than Islam, which was brought by Arabs and led to radicalisation of certain parts of Iranian, Tajik or Afghan societies.

  I am tajik living in Tajikistan and partly in Europe. Yes Tajikistan does opress radical islam and promotes secularism. Government tries to build identity of tajiks based on &nbsp;preislamic history of zoroastrianism, &nbsp;persian/tajik poetry, heroes of Shahname. Goverment organises competitions on poetry for young generation. Going to mosque is prohibited for children - they must consider themselves when they become adults. In islam majotity countries government must support secularism. Otherwise we will come back to dark ages. Democracy will come when the society will be ready.

  The titile should be : Islamists under surveilance. They do not want their country to become Afghanistan. PAkistan or Somalia. So nothing wrong with monitoring Islamists which are equivalent of being Relgious Nazi, or even worse.

  Although majority of it&apos;s people are Muslim, their type of government is a lot much better than that in Afghanistan and Iran... they&apos;re still trying to protect and preserve their own culture and identity.

  European media thinks that the monitoring or control of religious practice by the state is always and in all circumstances a sign of repression. What they do not understand is that if you give the same room to Islamists as you would to other religious practitioners, it&apos;s only a matter of time before you&apos;ll be wiped out. Although this documentary shows rare glimpses into Tajikistan, it&apos;s also a sign of why Europe is almost hopeless.
