Correction:
He stood at 6'3"(1.91m) and weighed between 87-93kg during his career. The new integration of AI search results on google is a burden to humanity and gave me fake answers.

My deepest apologies!

Weirdly he always ran well in major relay races. In 2015 he was crucial to jamaica winning the 4x100m

Retain that my fate of being an Asafa Powell fan growing up in the 2000s was HELL

2006 being the best year in Asafa Powell's career when there were no Olympics or World Championships puts everything in perspective

Olympic Gold or no gold, Asafa will always have my respect and admiration. Not only did he put Jamaica on the map through his countless sub-10seconds races but he inspired so many Jamaican athletes with his trademark 'effortless sprinting' technique. To this day, his form and grace on the track mirrors that of butter melting under the rays of a summer's midday sun.

Through out he's career nobody around him figured out that Powell needed to speak with a (sports psychologists)??? Clearly he's mental mindset was the problem

He couldn’t run relaxed and fast in the big moments but he’s still a legend with perfect running mechanics

Asafa is an absolute legend! He has perfect form and has run the most sub 10s. He was the first Jamaican elite athlete to choose to stay in Jamaica for his college years and laying the foundations for what was ro come. His decision developed into other athletes deciding to follow suit and stay home, turning Jamaica into the "sprint factory" as it became nicknamed. I will never not respect him 👊🏾

even if he was a choker asafa is a LEGEND in track and field and his impact is immense. He was the fastest man in the world when I first got into track and field and his infulence on jamaican track and field is evident.

The disappointing thing for me was the many times he stopped trying mid-race when challenged in major championship finals. He was a front runner. If he wasn't in front by halfway, he gave up.
