I don't fault you for using a modern map, but a footnote that the lake in the contested area around Emar would not have been there at the time. It is the resovoir of the Tabqa dam from the 1965's (Lake Assad for now...)

Back in the late 60's National Geographic did a special on these archaeological finds by an Italian team.

I know a history channel actually means business when I open the description and see an ocean of sources. All I needed to see to hit subscribe. Looking forward to actually watching this video now that I know it's genuinely sourced and not just algorithm fluff. Cheers.

My knowledge of Ebla going into this was basically nonexistent. Thank you for continuing to teach me more about the Bronze Age world! It's one of my favorite historical periods to learn about.<br>God be with you out there, everybody. ✝️ :)

I feel like it must have been common in the Bronze Age for the king to do a limited abdication so he can advise the new king, but also replace him if he dies or gets abducted or something. Maybe he even nominally retains control?

Thank you for another amazing video! Not much media is focused in ebla. Thank you for clearly exposing the chronology and for the amount of work and care you put in your videos

The maps help give context so I can grasp the topic better. Many other channels cover topics in depth but I can't wrap my head around the time period to give it context

Uruk was a couple thousand years before and extended further. They're the earliest empire I know of

I found your channel today, and I am amazed at the production quality, clearness of presentation and most importantly the citation of sources! I'm surprised this doesn't have more views! Keep up the good work.
