  Claire was legally very well protected and prepared. Her husband , mil and sil were all leaches. She was correct in filing all the papers she did.   The use of the word &quot;the adults&quot; is really weird in many of these stories. Like in this story, talking about what OP is doing while &quot;the adults were away&quot;. I mean, she is an adult too, so what is that supposed to mean?
