Easily one of their best songs imo, and far overlooked/underrated. It has such a mysterious feel to it which I feel is unmatched in anything else I've ever heard. There's not hardly any repetition, and they manage to make a 14 minute song anyway. I never get bored by any part. The double hi hats are magical too, gets me every time. Seriously a classic and a masterpiece.

You understand the genius under this song already at the beginning where keyboard and news talk about something futuristic and technological, far from feelings, but then the tribal drums remember you from where you come, that you are human and at the end of the introduction all the sounds collapse in a riff that perfectly represents human kind. I think no song in the whole history of music matched so good the theme of the lyrics with the music

SDOIT is Portnoy's era best album IMO! How was this jewel disliked when it first came out  and underrated to this day! My gosh MP's drumming at his best

James Labrie is strong on this. People rarely ever mention him but i think he's got some good moments on this track.

The broad musical spectrum they cover, the extreme musicianship and composing of this group are simply amazing.

Dream Theater gave off a lot of Tool vibes with this song.
