Brilliant breakdown! It’s fascinating yet tragic to see a $6 billion megaproject literally vanish into the sand. Your video perfectly highlights the danger of political ambition overriding basic environmental science. A crucial case study on why we can't just engineer our way out of nature's rules without listening to the experts first.

I love how this video explains such a complex topic in an easy way. Great job!

The fact that the sand absorbed most of the water is just wild. Nature really has its way!

The most interesting thing about Turkmenistan’s $6 billion desert lake isn’t the enormous investment—it’s how a project designed to transform an arid landscape can remain unfinished decades later. The real engineering lesson is that creating a massive artificial water system is one challenge; sustaining the water, infrastructure, and long-term vision is another.

The satellite images are so striking! It’s like the sand won the battle against water.

Quite interesting, given that we have possessed knowledge of advanced civilizations for many years now.

This just shows how powerful nature can be. The desert really doesn’t play around.

Twenty years later and still mostly sand… wow.

I wonder if they’ll ever try to revive the project or if it’s just left as is now.

I always thought deserts were just barren landscapes; this changes my perspective completely!

It's crazy how much effort went into this, and it still didn't work out. What a bummer!
