The newts were splayed out over the water. Dudley and Vernon spent ten minutes trying to find the chameleon. Eventually, they came upon the boa constrictor exhibit and its resident wasn’t making the best first impression on the birthday boy. The serpent was resting on its rock, unmoving, beside the small pond. Vernon and Petunia looked at each other, unsure of what to do as Dudley sighed.
