  Nara is definitely gas lighting the public. She knew exactly what she was doing. Now she’s sitting on a podcast in jeans lol why didn’t she wear one of her fancy outfits instead? She’s trying to switch up her aesthetic bc it’s no longer profitable. That’s it, that’s all. And plenty of ppl with allergies are able to eat things from the store.

  The obvious irony is that all these women complaining about women not being traditional are in fact, not being traditional. In many cases, they make more money than their husbands by having such massive followings on social media. Erica Kirk is the primary example. &quot;Stay in the home! Have kids! You don&apos;t want a career!&quot; she says while making millions a year running a corporation.

  My mom gave up her teaching career for over a decade to raise my sister and I. Her whole life revolved around tending to us and our father, shopping, watching soap operas, and calling her [now deceased] parents every day (something my dad always made fun of her for). <br><br>My mom didn’t have much of social life and still doesn’t to this day. Furthermore this period left her with no money. And she has the kind of personality that makes her vulnerable to being taken advantage of. <br><br>My mom ultimately got back to work. Yet there’s still a clear power dynamic between her and my father. And despite having her own job and money, my dad still expects to be tended to. My parents have demonstrated an unequal partnership for as long as I can remember (even if I wasn’t conscious of it growing up). <br><br>I asked my mom recently what hobbies she has. I also asked her what she likes to do for fun. When she didn’t have much of a reply to either question I asked, “Who are you then?”<br><br>My mom paused. “I don’t know,” she sighed. That rattled me. She just turned 60. Yet she doesn’t have a life outside of marriage, motherhood, and work. 💔

  A significant amount of these &quot;trad wives&quot; are Mormon. There is a theory rattling around that the Mormon church actually buys followers and provides financial support to online Mormon creators as a way to stealth promote the religion.

  My mom barely had any friends when she was married to my dad despite being a social butterfly in her college days. She never ended up graduating because of marriage, got the soul sucked out of her and ultimately got divorced after 35 years, all while my sperm donor tried to make it as hard as possible (even until know when he refuses to give her any assets and she can&apos;t afford a lawyer to help). Lo and behold, she now has a career in the field she studied during college, has multiple friends and even met someone a million billion times better than her ex. So if any ladies reading this are in the shackles of marriage and are too afraid to leave, don&apos;t be. You can get up again, especially without a shithead holding you back.

  Tradwife influencers come across as disingenuous to me. In the past women often stayed at home because of limited economic opportunities, but these influencers are selling a sugar-coated image of that lifestyle while making bank. They only get to work because of past feminists who fought for that right, and yet they spend their days promoting a conservative aesthetic &amp; values (as you explained, you can&apos;t really disentangle them). Would Nara even have her fame &amp; career if not for her performance of conservatism?

  I&apos;ve gotten a taste of the trad life last year. I was staying with my parents for the six months between finishing my bachelor&apos;s and starting my master&apos;s and was unemployed for the first two of these months. My dad was working from home at this time, so when I was not answering job offerings, I fell into a sort of a trad-daughter role: cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, all that stuff. For a few weeks it was fulfilling, I enjoyed taking care of the home, but soon enough the fulfillment was gone. Also it sunk in just how isolated I was. When I read my diary entries from that time, my world had pretty much shrunk to what I cooked that day. Luckily after two months I got a job in an archive and rejoined society.

  Just to add to the Joseph Smith commentary… he married children, women who were related (sisters, mothers/daughters) without telling them, and women who were already married as well. It was not as innocent as polygamy.
