Another tip: Don't be put off if you can't draw or otherwise make things "aesthetic"! Even a journal filled with nothing but chicken scratch and wavy-ligned charts ends up looking quite good in its own way as it fills, and is equally satisfying to flip through.

And technically nothing is permanent, even in a journal you can't remove pages from. If you don't like how a page turned out and don't need the info anymore, just put a big ol' X through it and come back to make a collage or sticker over it later when you're feeling creative! Even just glueing a patterned piece of paper over it will provide a welcome and intentional-looking pop of colour.

I have been slowly crawling towards something like this. It started with all my fav Skyrim potion recipes. Now I am on to Stardew and Final Fantasy X. Just so I dont have to constantly have to look at a screen to remember something. Analog is king.

This is reminding me of my dad with the gamecube animal crossing. He typed up every bug, fish, fossil, K.K. Slider song, furniture set, outfit, and cheat code for that game and put it all in a storage clipboard. He even went through our town's museum and put initials of who donated what. We were so obsessed we made a deal where i would catch all the bugs and he would do all the fish. The paintings and fossils were a competition between us which he won the paintings but I got most of the fossils lol. This makes me want to redo my book with pictures and stickers now

I started one for Blue Prince as I had heard it was useful to have a pen and paper.

I still haven't fully beaten it but now I have a journal that looks like the sort of artifact you'd give to an RPG party to show someone losing their mind

I’ve never heard of a gaming journal and I’ve never really been into scrapbooking before but this looks like so much fun and way better than my atrocious Google notes app

I want to add one more idea for PRG Players: Do a journal "in character" :) or about your Character. I did one when I played Morrorwind as a schoolkid mainly because the ingame journal/questlog wasn't practical (and I had too much free time...)

I’m always flipping between open tabs on my phone and saved Reddit posts when playing a game. I like the idea of making a keepsake of the graphics I use and a physical to-do list. I usually type something up in my notes app; it’s much more satisfying to cross things off a list.

As someone who has a serious video game 🎮 screenshot compulsion, this looks like a good complementary practice to save memories of favorite games (& save system/external hard drive space!).

If I’m feeling artsy, I can even try to replicate a favorite screenshot with a sketch or simply print out a mini version of it to stick in the book.

many games include a dedicated photo mode in game. Taking photos and adding in this would be perfect. My husband and I game together and love taking photos. I was going back through old photos yesterday and joked that I need to print them and make a photo album. We are kidless and have lots of free time hahah

Oh my God this is exactly my thing! I have MULTIPLE A4 binders for my different Tamagotchis. I keep care instructions, tips, event calendars, translations for the Japan only games, growth charts, character lists, downloadables and secret codes and so on. I also keep track of the tamas I got and battery changing log.

I really love the clear binder you have and the aesthetic scrapbooking style of it. So pretty and so useful! Thank you for the tips and ideas ☺
