Ronnie James Dio was the singer, same as Holy Diver by DIO! You recognized that voice, he's an icon.

Dio is definitely on the Mount Rushmore of metal vocalists (Ozzy, Dio, Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson). Dio was the king of high fantasy metal; wizards, dragons, demons, angels, swords and sorcery. He provided the soundtrack for many a dungeons and dragons campaign. Also, he invented the “devil horns” hand gesture 🤘, which he said he got from his Italian grandmother warding off “the evil eye”.

Rainbow is Ritchie Blackmore's creation. He was the guitarist for Deep Purple.

The follow-up song to this, A Light In The Black, is part 2 of the story of Stargazer, once the spell is lifted.

Ronnie James Dio, otherwise known as Dio is the lead singer here. He had also replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath. He then left Black Sabbath to continue his very successful career as a solo artist. One of my favorite metal artists. He has passed away from cancer unfortunately but his music will always live on always.

Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest vocalists to ever grace rock or metal. Genuinely a titanic talent, taken from us far too soon - though even if he had made it to his 90s, it would've been too soon, if you ask me. He took over for Ozzy in Black Sabbath for a certain era, if you're ever curious to check that out.

You will listen to this song over and over and realize how brilliant it is, and when you have listened to it a hundred times, you will still listen to it over and over. RIP RJD.
