Matty really stretching the concept of "Retro" here.

This remake was actually my first introduction to Final Fantasy 7 and i loved it. It actually made me want to play the original Final Fantasy 7 and I'm loving it so far.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game before. I watched your review of Rebirth and decided to give Remake a shot. I'm in chapter 11 and loving it. I cant wait to get my hands on Rebirth!

I started off with kingdom hearts and went into ffv and ff6 followed by 13 and 7 remake .
Remake stretched out yes but it’s also very memorable and fun I played the base ps4 version but even then I felt the game was very smooth.

This game was so so so beautiful. I always wanted to play ff7 as a kid but my dad got it from a pawn shop and the disk was scratched 😢 so I only had the demo to play. Playing remake after knowing bits and pieces and having seen advent children, it really was so meaningful to me. The characters are expanded on so well, the tone of everything is so perfect, the visuals are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Like the character portraits from FF8 - FFX came to life with these character models. The style is just immaculate!!

Remake is now lowkey nostalgic for me! Even the parts of the game that I didn’t particularly love are sweet memories to me now and I like to go and replay chapters.

Rebirth improved on it in every way except the mood being a little off at times and visuals being a little more cheap (which is understandable given that rebirth has like 500 different environments and remake has one city.)

The combat and characters are so well done that this game is just eminently replayable, despite the sections that drag.

I hope how Yuffie is introduced is a quest where she steals all of your material and you have to hunt her down.
