  This is insane timing,  i saved a bird thanks to alveus about a week ago! My dad had mentioned that he saw a baby bird that fell out of its nest in our backyard. I found the bird but was unable to find the nest since the tree it fell from was extremely tall and inaccessible. All the times I’ve watched alveus, I’ve learned then to call wildlife rehab centers nearby. That was the first thing I did, and they guided me through everything to bring the bird safely to them. The bird is now currently in safe hands thanks to you guys :) (it was also a robin)

  PSA: The presence of an outdoor cat can impact nest success, site selection, and other behaviors for wild birds. Outdoor cats are a huge threat to birds, and not just from direct predation. Outdoor cats are directly responsible for the current decline of at least 27 species in the US.

  so in the 1820s some dude performed an incredibly flawed and improperly controlled experiment on one species of birds and then used that to make a sweeping statement about all birds that people just accepted as fact? dear lord i think i just heard my bio professor cry

  i live in Minnesota and we noticed there is a loon nest with 2 eggs in it across from our cabin, i immediately submitted an application to become a volunteer loon surveyer so i can share with the DNR the success or failure of the nest, im so so excited!! i probably would not have done so if not for Maya and the team stressing how much impact i can make by doing little things :).

  Everything was so interesting! Kayla seems like an awesome teacher, she made everything sound exciting. Birds are cool, I like to go birdwatching.
