Sri Vimalananda Aghori has explained this in detail in the book Aghora 3. I have followed his understanding of Karma and have made better decisions in life than before. It has also made mind a bit calm when I am suffering because of this understanding. Thank you for the nice refresher, Mr. Robert!

You can’t predict what can happen to you, but you can always determine how you gonna react to it

In Norse mythology, the Norns are three Fate Goddesses similar to the Greek Moirai. Urd (past/memory), Verdandi (present/becoming), and Skuld (future/should/shall) live at the well of memory beneath one of the roots of Yggdrasil. In one myth, they carve mortals’ fates into sticks from the World-Tree with runes, and in another myth they weave fate like the Moirai. The wyrd (fate/urd/karma) of Aesir (order/civilization deities) like Odin and Thor is fixed towards Ragnarök as a natural consequence of actions such as murdering Ymir and other Jötnar (primeval chaotic deities). The web of wyrd is a metaphorical representation of the collective causal matrix that links all of our karma together; sometimes there are flexible tangles or fraying bits that can be repaired or cut out and woven around, and sometimes there are virtually impenetrable knots.

Dr Robert's take on world as a karmic bank, India as a karmic deposit counter and US as a karmic withdrawal counter is quite interesting

If you change your fate, it was never your fate, by definition. What you can do is change is the apparent direction or momentum of events.

Whether or not you can use free will and the extent to which you can use your free will -- is destined.
