I can’t believe how Guillermo is defending the company he left 10 years ago and his dead friend when we’ve seen testimony after testimony hearing that the company was terribly corrupt

I think anyone on the board of directors should be held criminally liable. The fact that they scrubbed their website is a sign of guilt too and can probably be used against them.

No one from the Ocean Gate crew can apologize to P.H.’s daughter, or any of the families of the victims, because an apology is tantamount to admitting fault. They’ll never admit culpability, and therefore, never admit wrongdoing, or make any apologies.

Many people ask “why did the search continue if so many experts were saying the sub imploded?”<br>The answer is that in search and rescue and emergency response, if there is ANY possibility that the people in trouble are alive or save-able, the mission continues. The worst possible outcome of a search and rescue mission is stopping too soon and losing people who could have been saved. The duty of a search and rescue team isn’t to make judgements about what probably happened. If there’s even the infinitesimally small chance the five were still alive in that sub, it was their duty to continue the search until the ROV found the titan and confirmed its loss. More improbable rescues have happened in the past(2018 Thai cave rescue comes to mind) and so we can’t pick and choose which search and rescue missions are and aren’t worth it with hindsight.

The Titan wasn’t just a vessel, it became a symbol of ambition unchecked. Stockton Rush chased legacy at the bottom of the sea, but in doing so, ignored the very pressure he promised to withstand. The ocean doesn’t do second chances.

“At some point, safety is just pure waste" - Stockton Rush.

The co founder’s level of denial tells us a lot about how he and Stockton Rush operated. I mean they used bedliner to keep the water off the carbon fiber, I don’t think anyone ever tested bedliner in that way.

Thanks for your intense coverage. This tragedy should not be forgotten. Subs should still exist - even experimental ones, but they should be far more strictly regulated and it should not be allowed to sell seats to third parties without testing from an independent agency.

Anyone who's ever worked under a narcissistic boss knows exactly how and why this happened. Their arrogance and grandiosity are completely impenetrable, regardless of how necessary it may be for the benefit of others. Anyone who even tries to talk sense to them with spark their inability to tolerate criticism and be punished swiftly and harshly. Their entitlement means the only options people have is to comply with their every demand totally and immediately or be fired.
