  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2yqMBWld18&amp;t=738">12:18</a> I believe chat is referring to rule 158.3 “While a spell or ability on the chain is Resolving, no other spells or abilities can be finalized on the<br>chain or resolved, including triggered abilities or game effects that would occur as a result of the<br>execution of the spell.”<br><br>Promising Future has to finish resolving all its card text before any other effect, including triggered ones as a result of it, can be finalized (i.e. made choices for).<br><br>This means the sequence goes:<br>- Jayce plays Promising Future<br>- Opponent plays Barbara -&gt; it’s WYPM effect becomes pending but not finalized; no targets yet<br>- Jayce plays Aurora<br>- Promising Future card effect finishes resolving<br>- Barbara’s WYPM is allowed to finalize on the chain, allowing it to choose Aurora at this point<br><br>At least this is my interpretation of what chat’s saying 😅

  During game 1 at around <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2yqMBWld18&amp;t=180">3:00</a> you could have set up a board that beats anything but Flurry/Bellows or sprites.<br><br>Double conquer to 6, play Bird to Steelpaws BF, hide block anywhere (just dont target Steelpaws if youre activating it there). <br><br>Creates a situation where you get to play block when he attacks either BF and then play Switcheroo onto either one for free due to bird trigger. <br><br>If he doesnt have Flurry/Bellows/Sprites then his one dragon trades with one unit and his EoT dragon kills only one. This lets you hold to 7 and then boots over for 8.<br><br>It’s still a rough play with how much he had in hand, but it’s probably the best play you could make and allows him room to misplay a ton.<br><br>If you want to play around Sabo then you can hide block on the Mouser bf and Switcheroo on the other. He’s an Aurora player so hed probably be more tempted to go to the Bird/Steelpaws bf and then you blow him out with switcheroo.

  you can also play flash in the side or main for this matchup as when elder comes down you can save your units at the battlefield with flash

  Let this be a lesson to new players of card games (not trying to imply the Jayce did this maliciously) never let a player who “has more experience” tell you how things resolve. The Jayce player putting pressure on you to fold how you think something works because it “overturns what they’ve seen with local judge calls and rq’s” doesn’t mean those people were right. Make sure if you’re unsure press to figure it out.

  Grapplr, the active player of Promising Future needs to banish his choice first. So you can wait and see his choice first before you decide yours as banish cards are public information. Then you play, he plays, his resolved, urs resolved.
