I thought the story handled its biggest moments with good timing. The important information was revealed when it could have the most impact, but there were enough hints beforehand that it did not feel completely random. That is exactly the kind of balance I enjoy. You still get the surprise, but afterward you can look back and understand how the story was leading toward it all along.
