This is the tragic conundrum of traditional crafts worldwide. If there isn’t financial support from nonprofits or government, there isn’t enough money for the craftspeople to live on. So they choose a career where they can make a living wage, even if it means giving up a dream. It breaks my heart. I’m a pastry chef for 40 years, and I’ve seen this happening in my industry.

Thank you for the nice video!<br>Just one remark: Like in all Wander Compass videos, I would find it helpful to add the Google Maps link of the location to the description.<br>It is not shown as "Nagai Seichiku" there, but instead only by its Japanese name 永井製竹（株), and it is not categories as something like "bamboo museum", but as "timber merchant".<br><br>Having the location link in the description would make it much easier to locate it.<br>I would recommend to add the location links in all video descriptions, since I struggled several times to find the locations on Google Maps with English language settings.<br>Ideally, the shop owner should add his shop name in English writing to Google Maps as well. At least, if he is interested to draw attention from foreign tourists.
