🌸 Prince always held the audience in the palm of his hand.

He chose the song list to best entertain a very diverse crowd so everyone had a good time. And since he could do all genres it was no problem. Best of You by Foo Fighters was a popular song at the time.

Prince was the most underated guitarist, I was lucky enough to see him in concert 4 times.

The genre is Prince!! He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. It poured down rain, the only time it ever rained at the Super Bowl! The game was in Miami, so he honored the Dolphins by wearing their colors. The Marching Band was FAMU out of Tallahassee, FL
The Colts beat the Bears that year.

The first song was the intro:
“We Will Rock You” Queen
“Let's Go Crazy" Prince
There was a small snippet of “1999” Prince
“Baby I'm a Star" Prince
“Proud Mary" Creedence Clearwater Revival played in the style of Tina Turner’s cover
"All Along the Watchtower"Bob Dylan played in the style of Jimi Hendrix
“Best of You" Foo Fighters
"Purple Rain" Prince

This is the greatest halftime show ever! Prince covered Queen, Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix and the Foo Fighters (who had no idea Prince was gonna perform their song).
The symbol stands for man and woman. 💜

How nice see different generations enjoying the same quality music. You put a smile on my face, big big thank you from the Basque Country.

The best I’ve seen! And done LIVE in the rain! (Even MJ’s Super Bowl he lip synced most of the songs). The band said immediately after they finished the set, every instrument on stage crapped out due to being water-logged! Prince also had a 5-octave range.

Prince was IN CHARGE of everything. And that was Florida A&M University Marching Band. The dancers were the Twins!

Prince was inducted into the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so please do his set list! He did a medley of 4-5 songs! He was an excellent band leader too so you’ll get a chance to see how tight his band was.

Prince and MJ were two different individuals who catered to different audiences. They were both leaders so a collaboration wasn’t going to work! Neither would probably take the back seat to the other!🤣. MJ was universally accepted. Prince was more for adults.

This was easily the greatest Super Bowl performance of all time, even better than Michael Jackson’s. Everything about it was perfect. The mic was ON & the songs chosen was PERFECT. Seeing Prince sing Purple Rain IN THE RAIN alone was just otherworldly! The only Halftime Show that put tears in my eyes. It was truly something that still electrifies me to this day. Nothing will ever top this.
