This song is from The Wall, which is an entire story. You can draw a lot from listening to the songs individually, but it will make the most sense by listening to it in context of the entire album.

Welcome to the family of Floyd.

Been listening since the 60's, saw them numerous times. You don't listen to Pink Floyd, you experience Pink Floyd. In your mind, in your heart, and in your bones. No other music can transport you to so many places.

The man pulls so much emotion from his guitar. The instrument becomes another vocalist.

David doesn't play the most notes, or the fastest; the plays the right notes, and therein captures the universal human experience.
