Only a few minutes in, the rose makes me think this was more of a memorial world and Danny wants him to let go thus the disappearing blocks. Maybe Danny was Mason's brother or a close friend but that kind of story telling is what's clicking for me so far.

Amekhania (or Amechania) is the ancient Greek personified spirit (daimon) of helplessness, want, and impossibility, often depicted alongside Penia (Poverty) and Ptokheia (Beggary). She embodies being unable to cope, lost hope, and lack of resources, and is virtually identical to Aporia (Powerlessness).

I think the version change when going to the nether has significance too. It might be the version when Danny passed away, and they went back to beta to sorta relive the past.

31:17 No it's not a loop, the "A New World" video is supposed to be the ending where Mason made a new Minecraft world but still carrying the flower which represents his memories of Danny (I think)
