That red daikon is beautiful. Please let your mother know that over here in Brighton, UK, I have been trying out some of her dishes, since I started watching your videos and I now store a bottle of water with kombu seaweed in it, in the fridge, for making miso. And I agree with her: pickles are the thing that makes rice delicious!
